“A State Supreme Court justice has ruled against a group of neighbors who sought to block a senior housing complex planned for Youngs Road in Amherst.
The residents filed suit against the Amherst Planning Board, the town Zoning Board of Appeals and the developer who proposes constructing a pair of two-story buildings, containing 51 units in total, at 1055 Youngs Road, just north of Maple Road. Neighbors have raised concerns about traffic, drainage and the project’s size.
RedTek Development received the required approvals from the Planning Board and Zoning Board. Residents sued, arguing the boards did not conduct a full review before deciding the project wouldn’t harm the environment. However, Justice James H. Dillon on June 23 ruled both boards complied with state law.”
